Prof. Akash Saxena

Dr. Akash received a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering with honors in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Engineering College Kota, Kota Rajasthan, India in 2001, a Master of Technology with honors in Power System Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India in 2008 and a Ph.D. degree in Power System Dynamics from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, India in 2015. Dr. Akash has presented research work at national/international conferences in India and abroad. He has had the good opportunity to gain a rich and diverse work experience of nearly a decade in both the corporate and academic worlds. His research interests are Computational Intelligence, Application of Artificial Intelligence in the power system, Control theory, smart grid, signal processing, and Metaheuristics. His research is focused on application-oriented solutions that can be a beneficial tool for mankind and society. In particular, in a recent work, a supervised architecture based on the Air Quality index values is proposed by Dr. Akash to classify the ambient air quality in various parts of India. During the past three years, He got an opportunity to work on projects based on metaheuristic optimization algorithms. In these projects, several variants of optimization algorithms were proposed and applications of those are reported in Q1 journal papers (Elsevier). His recently published work in the applied soft computing journal (Elsevier) on the development of an internal optimization-based grey forecasting model is also an integral part of this project work. In addition to that, he has completed two government-funded research projects sponsored by Rajasthan Technical University. 

Prof. Yanjiao Chen

Yanjiao Chen received her B.E. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2010 and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2015. She is currently a Bairen Researcher in the College of  Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, China. Her research interests include ML security, AI in networking, and mobile sensing. Yanjiao has published papers in ACM CCS, IEEE INFOCOM, ICDCS, etc. Yanjiao has served on the editorial board of IEEE WCL and served as TPC member in IEEE INFOCOM, NDSS,  ICNP, etc.


Assoc. Prof. Anwar P P Abdul Majeed

Dr Anwar P.P. Abdul Majeed graduated with a first-class honours B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. He obtained an MSc. in Nuclear Engineering from Imperial College London, United Kingdom. He then received his PhD in Rehabilitation Robotics from the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Prior to joining Sunway University, he served as an Associate Professor at the School of Robotics, Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) and acted as the Programme Director of the newly developed MSc in Advanced Robotics Systems, XJTLU. He served as a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and the Head of Programme (Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Industrial Automation)) at the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology, UMPSA, before joining XJTLU. He is also currently serving as an adjunct Associate Professor at UCSI University, Malaysia. Dr Anwar is also a Visiting Research Fellow at EUREKA Robotics Centre, Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.

Dr Anwar is a Chartered Engineer, registered with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK, a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, as well as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His research interests include rehabilitation robotics, computational mechanics, applied mechanics, sports engineering, renewable and nuclear energy, sports performance analysis, and machine learning.

He has authored over 100 papers in different journals, conference proceedings as well as books. He serves as a reviewer in a number of prolific journals, such as IEEE Access, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, SN Applied Sciences, PeerJ Computer Science, and Applied Computing and Informatics, amongst others. 


Prof. Chen Zhikui

Prof. Chen Zhikui, an esteemed member of IEEE, has been serving as a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Dalian University of Technology since November 2007. Additionally, he holds the position of director at the Big Data Research Institute of the same university. His research focuses primarily on the fields of big data and artificial intelligence. Prior to his appointment at Dalian University of Technology, Prof. Chen spent the years 1998 to 2007 conducting scientific research on networks and data computing at various institutions, including the Hong Kong Baptist University, the French Institute of Automation, and the University of Stuttgart in Germany.

National projects in recent five years:

1. National key R & D project, Key technology research for cross domain case filing and collaboration among professional courts (2018YFC083130020, 18.7.1-2021.6.30, with a total funding of 11.15 million yuan);

2. National key R & D program, Source apportionment and pollution characteristics of heavy metals in farmland and agricultural products (2016YFD08030202016.1.1-2020.12.31);

3. Key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (technical director), research on management analysis and mining of multi-source heterogeneous big data for "three old" transformation (u13012532014.1-2017.12);

4. Two general projects of NSFC, research on adaptive depth computing model for land resource feature learning (61672123), Research on few-shots cross-modal learning model for interpretation of land utilization status data (62076047), 2021 / 01-2024 / 12.

Academic achievements and contributions in recent five years:

A series of big data computing theories and algorithms as well as artificial intelligence technology have been created, a big data algorithm library platform has been developed, and an artificial intelligence computing platform has been constructed, which has been applied in engineering practice. Published more than 100 academic papers and more than 50 SCI retrieved journals. 20 invention patents have been applied and 13 have been authorized. Four software copyrights were issued and three books were published. One special award, first award and second award of science and technology progress of Geographic Information Association in 2020,2018,2016; One third award of Huaxia Construction Science and technology in 2021.
